Rovio Entertainment Ltd. is an entertainment media company based in Espoo, Finland, and the creator of the globally successful Angry Birds. Rovio was founded in 2003 as a mobile game development studio, and the company has developed several award-winning titles for various mobile platforms. The Angry Birds games have enjoyed continuing worldwide success, and the franchise has since expanded to a variety of new business areas. HR Assistant
I am soon to be graduated Master’s student majoring in Information and Service Management and International Management (CEMS) at the Helsinki School of Economics. I joined Rovio four months ago as an HR Trainee and soon after was offered a permanent position as an HR Assistant. Despite having a background in Logistics and International Management I was looking for new and inspiring opportunities. I was particularly interested in working for an innovative yet small sized company with a unique and promising brand. Previously I worked for multinational companies with well established brands but I felt that I was not fully developing my skills and growing as a business professional. Therefore, I decided to apply for a summer internship at Rovio and it was by far the smartest click I have made.
As an HR Assistant my main responsibilities include many fields of HR starting from internal communication, participating in recruitment and selection, organizing various events as well as continuous development of on-boarding and Rovio’s employer image and campus activities – in close cooperation with our people. Without doubt I can say that every day at Rovio is different and it surely never gets boring. You have the ability to work with so many talented and professional people from various business units and backgrounds. However, there is no such thing as “us” and “them” - we are all Roviors and we share the same vision and passion for our brand. I highly appreciate that Rovio encourages you to share your ideas and it is a truly amazing feeling to see when your ideas are taken into account and implemented for real. Even though I have been with Rovio for a short while I already feel like part of a small family.
